Intact nature and cultural richness

If you are a mountain lover, Slovakia will surely enchant you. More than half of the country is made up of mountains and highlands that offer peace, quiet and romantic places with a unique atmosphere, which are rare today. There are nine national parks in Slovakia, perfect for relaxation and regeneration.

Slovakia is also rich in culture and history. Worth seeing:

  • Vlkolínec: a reserve of folk architecture with unique wooden buildings
  • Čičmany: famous for its houses decorated with unique ornaments
  • Banská Štiavnica: a charming town located in the heart of a former volcano
  • Bardejov: a Gothic town with the impressive Church of St. Giles
  • Spiš Castle: the largest castle ruins in Central Europe
  • Levoča: Church of St. James with the world's largest Gothic altar made of linden wood
  • Wooden churches: especially in the eastern part of the country, with the oldest Church of St. Francis of Assisi in Hervatov, dating back to the 15th century

In a small area of ​​Slovakia there are 180 ruins of castles and 425 palaces, which were once the seats of monarchs and places of important historical events.
