We are happy to announce that Bulgaria has become a partner country of the ITTF Warsaw fair, which will be held in November at the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw. Nikolaj Kostov from the Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism emphasizes that Poland, alongside neighboring countries, is a priority market for Bulgarian tourism.

Bulgaria – a popular and safe destination

According to travel agency data, Bulgaria is one of the five most frequently chosen holiday destinations by Poles.

  • Apart from our neighbor Romania, Poland is the most important market for Bulgarian tourism, even ahead of Germany. It is from these two countries that most tourists come to us, says Nikolaj Kostov, counselor of the Bulgarian embassy in Warsaw and representative of the Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism responsible for the promotion of the country. – Last year, 460,000 tourists from Poland visited Bulgaria, and this year the result is expected to be similar.
  • In turn, data from one of the largest Polish travel agents, Travelplanet.pl, indicate that Bulgaria is the most frequently chosen destination for family holidays. Families appreciate Bulgaria for its wide, sandy beaches, proximity to Poland, sunny weather, tasty cuisine, affordable prices and modern hotel facilities.
  • Cultural proximity to Bulgaria plays an important role. Poles feel safe there, especially since Polish policemen also patrol Bulgarian resorts in the summer and can be contacted by phone. More and more restaurants offer menus in Polish, and museums offer recordings in Polish, making sightseeing easier, says Nikolaj Kostow.
  • Bulgarian hotels often offer free stays or discounts for the youngest children. Polish tourists are welcome in Bulgaria, they are considered cultural guests who are interested in sightseeing and willing to go outside the hotel.
  • The Bulgarian tourism industry is looking forward to meeting Polish partners and tourists. Bulgarian entrepreneurs, especially hoteliers, and representatives of local authorities are eager to participate in the Warsaw fair. It is already known that representatives of Sofia, Burgas and Varna will appear in Warsaw.
  • This year, for the first time, our Ministry of Tourism allocated PLN 10 million for the promotion of the country by Polish travel agencies. Thanks to these funds, it was possible to co-finance up to 40% of the costs of promotional activities.

What attractions await fair guests?

  • Music, dance and Bulgarian wine! At the Bulgaria stand in the Palace of Culture and Science you will be able to obtain information about various regions and tourist attractions.
  • It is worth remembering that Bulgaria, dominated by mountainous areas, is also a perfect place for autumn and winter trips. The offer includes ski resorts, hot springs, monuments and numerous hiking trails.
  • A folklore group presenting Bulgarian folk songs and dances will perform during the fair. Visitors will also be able to try Bulgarian wines. The owner of one of the largest vineyards in Bulgaria, Katarzyna Estate and Wines, is a Pole who has been running this business for over 20 years. His best-known wine brand is Mezek.
